Description
The Hybrid Poplar (Populus deltoides x nigra) tree is a super fast growing tree with many uses. We’ve seen them used for screening, windbreaks, slope stabilization, quick shading of a Southern home exposure, etc. The growth rate can be as much as 10 ft per year in height. The roots are prolific and powerful, so it is recommended to bear this in mind when selecting a site.
While there are several hybrids of the Poplar genus (Populus), ours is a cross of the Eastern Cottonwood (Populus deltoides) from the US and the Black Poplar (Populus nigra) from Europe.
